Engagement Chicken

I came across this recipe for
engagement chicken and thought it was funny & interesting.

So the background story is that Glamour magazine printed a recipe for roasted chicken that will inspire your boyfriend to propose to you. Apparently, 3 Glamour employees tried it and they were engaged soon after. Something about serving a "family" style meal made these guys think about marriage and proposing.

Well, turns out I made this engagement chicken several months ago without even knowing it. I must say, Boyfriend was impressed when I presented it the first time.

While at the supermarket earlier this week, I figured I'd make a whole chicken again for him & sure enough when he saw it he said "You bought a whole chicken? When are you gonna make it?!" When I told him I'd be making it the next day he seemed happy about it.

I'm kind of crazy anal (that sounds horrible) about things and forgot what temperature to cook the chicken at so that the skin would get crispy and golden so I yahoo'ed it (Yes, I yahoo. I don't google and refuse to.) and that's when
this recipe came up.

I thought it'd be funny to study Rauls reaction to the engagement chicken...

Poor guy didn't suspect a thing but I couldn't hold it in anymore. I was cracking up and finally told him the story.

Afterwards, he got on one knee and proposed,

"Will you marry me...in the future?"

My response was "HAIYOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

& that's us.

I love us.
& don't worry, he loves us back.

Happy 25th Birthday to my #1 lady!

This beautiful little lady turns 25 today!
A little under a year ago she packed her bags & moved to the Bronx leaving everything behind in search of a career that would let her explore her passion.

Recently she moved to Manhattan and is living out her dream.

I'm so proud of her and I admire her courage more than she knows.

Happy Birthday my love.
Enjoy your special day!

You knew this picture was coming, didn't you? I had to. It's a classic (we go way, way back).

& this picture just because its so her from the adorable smile to the photo collage behind her to the "Jesus is coming T-shirt".

Miss you beauts!

Check out her site & talent here.

Los Perros: Saturday Evening

After an exhausting evening of shopping in Aventura mall (that mall is way too big - f21 even has its own floor. seriously?) the only thing left to do was get hamburgers the size of our heads. The burgers have broken potato chips inside of them. Genius and delicious.

Mexican Food Love: Saturday Afternoon

I've been in the mood for some authentic Mexican food for days so I searched my favorite site [yelp] and read great reviews for Paquitos in Aventura.

I wasn't expecting it to be visually appealing since its in a strip mall but the minute you walk in its like a Mexican decor explosion took place. Everything from the tables and chairs to the employees are decked out in traditional attire. I love anything thats themed.

& I loved this place. So festive! & look at the size of the plates! They even had Jarritos mexican soda.
Tamarindo soda? Yes, please.

I can see myself begging loverboy to take the 45 minute drive in the very near future.

OneBurger

Friday night we went to OneBurger near Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. I had been several times before when I used to work in the area but kinda forgot about it since.

I had the Black, Black & Blue which has black bean spread, gorgonzola cheese and an orange glaze. I thought it was great.

Sirs had the BBQ. He didn't love it. In fact it made him sick.

But I must go back to try the Frita Cubana burger which has shoestring fries & tomato sauce on it. Yum.

Oh, and they had a vending machine with "Bling Teeth". Naturally, I had to have to have em.

Afterwards, we went to Rauls moms house and all three laid in bed listening to music, chatting & joking.
I love her house. It's so cozy and smells delicious & homey.

Good times.

Where I'd rather be on this cloudy afternoon

Happy Friday!

Mrs Boots & Sirs give it two thumbs down

Saw Harry Potter last weekend. Ehhh, pretty boring compared to the other ones in our opinion.

Though you can't really trust our judgement because we thought UP was overrated and Bruno...hilarious.

We're sick individuals.

In case you didn't know $50 AMC hot dogs & $30 AMC icees go perfectly together. Duh.

I like them already.

Any friend of Edwards is a friend of mine.

Too funny.

Apparently I have no idea what I'm doing

So I went to take two of my Diana film rolls to get developed
One color
One black & white

The color one...I accidentally bought slide film instead of regular film and half of them were screwed up because I had trouble winding it in and had to take the cover off at the beach of all places. SUN!

Only 3 colored photos came out of the 16 I took and the employee at Hot Shots said they "weren't worth printing". Uhhh, thanks!

The black & white one was a bit more "successful". If you'd even call these photos below successful Diana shots. I don't think I would.

photo of me by Sirs

double exposure of Baby Matty by me

photo of downtown Miami by me

Photo of Boca Chica by me

Self-portrait. Ha.

First shot I took with the Diana. Ironically enough, its the clearest photo.

I'm hoping with more practice I'll become better at this because this was a huge disappointment.

If you have any idea what I'm doing wrong, please let me know!

Anywho, I'm finally going to see Harry Potter tomorrow. Can't wait.
Have a great weekend!

Our Humble Abode

I love our apartment.

Wouldn't a flat screen tv look great on this huge wall!

Unfortunately (fortunately)
I spend my money on vacations and Sirs spends his money on cars.

Sirs guitar.
No he doesn't play.
He just uses it as decoration to pick up chicks.

My favorite "room". The kitchen.

The guest bathroom.
My second favorite room because it's the only one that feels complete.

I won't show you our room & the guestroom because I like to keep some things private...

Yeah right!

It's because they both look like warehouses full of boxes and crap!

Soon soon.
